About the Owners

Martyn is a geologist and Veronica is a part-time Maths teacher.
In 2006, whilst we were still living in Cape Town, South Africa, we did a 2-week family skiing holiday in Badgastein over the Christmas period. Well, we fell in love with the place and in September 2007 we bought the apartment.

Skiing in the Gastein valley area offers varied routes and caters for the whole families abilities: the kids are pretty expert on their skiis and/or snowboards; Martyn is an excellent and cautiously confident skier while Veronica still prefers blues and easy reds. The Ski Amade ski pass affords you an even wider choice of ski areas, if you really want to go further afield. Veronica also really enjoys spending time here in summer: the hiking trails and walks are spectacular, varied and abundant.  So, come and experience Badgastein and enjoy!

Read Martyn’s write up about skiing in the Gastein valley here, written with the pen name “A Zulu on skis”.

The kids, Dylan and Tayo, were 12 and 10 when we first bought the apartment and are now 23 and 21 and they still have not grown tired of skiing the Gastein Valley!

Most of all, the holidays we have had  here, have contributed to some of the best bonding and quality times with our kids.
